Melissa`s Gourmet in New York City

I've been getting custom salads and sandwiches here for over two years now, and I'm big fan. Even during busy times, their staff is efficient and friendly, and they have great daily specials. I am happy to call myself a Melissa's Gourmet #SavageSaladEater, and I recommend you check them out.

Not going back. The cashier took one look at me and bust out laughing. Not sure what was so funny. It's a clean, well-stocked deli with a normally courteous staff but I don't need someone laughing in my face.

This place makes the worst breakfast. I stopped by this past Wednesday and ordered a simple toasted Bagle with butter and extra cream cheese. What I got was mounds of butter mixed in with cream cheese. I stopped by there today and ordered egg sandwich with fresh mozzarella on a croissant toasted. It wasn’t toasted and the dude who made it, put he cold fresh mozzarella on top of the already cooked eggs so it made the whole sandwich cold and soggy. These people don’t know how to make breakfast. Never again!

i stopped for a small lunch & was happy to found a tasty, very good filled chicken wrap. they sell different wraps & cold sandwich. also a great amount of several salads & warm food to take away.

Chicken parm sandwich was cold and got 1 piynd macronie that tasted sour which means that the macaroni has gone bad. The macaroni did not look fresh and felt it was being used from yesterday or day before. While my worker was making food the other worker was smelling containers which had food. Would bot recommand this place something sounds fishy with their food.

Incredible chicken salad sandwiches!

Just picked up a superb breakfast For a few of us. Massive selection of food and quick service. Will be back soon!

Average quality food. Everything is EXTREMELY overpriced!!!The owner is obviously taking advantage of his location on Manhattan's Upper West Side and the fact that there are hardly any other delis around. Be prepared to shoot the lock of your wallet if you want to buy a few basic items, like milk and bread. Avoid, unless you really have no choice.

Very good Sandwiches, but Juices need to be Cold

One small annoyance about this place was that they only accepted credit cards if you paid $5 or more. In my case, that was not me.That aside, no complaints. The food was fairly decent quality even though I had something pretty small and they were fast.I am sadly not in this area that often but when I am this is a good place to know about.

Cheaper for good salads

Horrible customer service all I asked was that they wrapped my soup in plastic and considering what they charged I figured it wouldn't be an issue but I was wrong not only did my soup spill I didn't eat lunch thanks to them. So I would advise everyone to stay away.

Good price and good food. Not high end by any means but great selection of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and soups. Stopped by before heading out of town and I was pretty happy with my meatball hero.

Nice place

Melissa's Gourmet may not be the best food in the city, but being a (now graduated) student at NYIT it's a very ideal place to stop by and grab a bite. They have a lot of selections, and I have yet to run into any issues in regards to the staff or food. My only con is that the placement of everything within the building is way too compact.I get it. It's New York, but the main entrance is usually filled with people standing waiting for their food during peak times. It's a minor annoyance when moving within the store, as everything just seems too crunched in. I'm not knocking any stars off for that because I can't really blame them since they have to work with the space they have. With that being said, this is definitely not a place to take your time in. Order your food, get whatever you have to get, and leave.

First off, the store is pretty expensive, but in the city that much is expected. What is great is the very large variety of products that they have for sale. They have loads of different snacks, pastries, and drinks (and some very good coffee!). The best thing though, is their sandwiches, hand made. Again, it's pretty expensive, but it's really worth the cost.

This area is devoid of food options, so this place works great! I had a very good sandwich here. Not great prices, not a total rip either. I like the sign and the interior. They also had surprisingly cheap desserts, pro-tip.

Fastest delivery in the upper west side!

Just got a salad from here and I discovered a hair in my salad. I wasted my money and time getting my lunch from here today. Highly disappointed. Also one of the chasiers gives off an attitude.

Beware going to this snack store, they are very racist. I go in to buy a bottle of water and some shortbeard cookies dude that work in there following me around watching me real hard. Guess cause I am black, I am considered a automatic criminal. I would advise any black person do not support this store.

Really good salad

Used to be really good, but lately has gone downhill. First of all, everything is already overpriced. Second, customer service is not that friendly at all, especially considering you are paying a lot more for everything here than it would cost at a cheaper store. Third, they nickle and dime you on something as small as ingredients on an already overpriced sandwich...I mean really? Most likely skip next time.

I really enjoy their salads and sandwiches. I highly recommend their egg salad. Everyone who works there is really friendly.

The best soups! Especially the shrimp chowder!
